Space Utilization
Space Utilization is a smartmanager application available on smartdirector only. The basic functionality allows you to view the occupancy and utilization for the entire cluster for the last month. The full capabilities for the space utilization application can be enabled by activating a license that needs to be installed. The license is tied to the smartdirector and valid for a specified period.
This application is designed to provide valuable insights into building usage by analyzing two metrics across locations over time -
- Occupancy represents the percentage of time duration that a location was considered occupied. A location is considered occupied if any sensor detects a motion during a 3-minute period.
- Utilization represents the percentage of sensors in the location that detected motion during a time frame during which the location was occupied. The averaged results of the utilization include only the times when the space is occupied.
For each metric, the basic view shows you the following data helps answer the following questions -
- How did the value of the metric change over time?
- How did the value of the metric compare over the days of the week?
- How did the value of the metric compare over the hours of the day?
In addition, you can also see the top 5 and bottom 5 days for the metric values.
The Demo version provides this information for the entire cluster for current month.
A license for this feature enables advanced capabilities such as -
- Study these trends by individual locations (building, floors, etc.) or by location types (conference rooms, office spaces, etc.)
- Compare the data across locations or location types.
- Adjust the time frames of interest such as quarter, month, or custom time windows. You can also evaluate the data from specific hours of the days.
- Ability to download the report or print the reports as PDF.
